IGCS-IGCAN Gynecologic Cancer Survivor-Caregiver Advocacy Summit

The Annual IGCS-IGCAN Survivor-Caregiver Advocacy Summit will be held in Dublin, Ireland, the day before the IGCS Annual Global Meeting begins. The summit provides education and networking opportunities to the gynecologic cancer patient advocacy community.

Our annual patient– and advocate-focused event invites the advocacy community to learn about and discuss topics of importance to gynecologic cancer survivor-patients, their caregivers and family members, and all those dedicated to patient advocacy and activism.

Summit Program:

1. Initiatives Promoting Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in Patient Outreach Projects (IGCS Grant Recipients)

  • HER REASON FOR BEING: A Multifaceted Community-Based Project to Advance Cervical Cancer Prevention and Awareness
  • Nan men gran m’et la: Pilot Palliative Care Intervention for Vulnerable Women with Advanced Cervical Cancer in Haiti
  • Acceptability of Self-Sampling for Cervical Screening in the LGBTQIA+ Population – The Alternative Cervical Screening (ACES) LGBTQIA+ 2 Study

2. Empowered by Experience: Insights on Cancer Survivorship

  • The Public Narrative: Using your Lived Experiences to Call for Action
  • Key Findings from the IGCAN Survivorship + Caregiver Survey
  • Voices of Resilience: Survivorship Panel Discussion

3. Agents of Change: Patient Advocacy Organizations in Action

  • Every Woman Study™ LMIC Edition: World Ovarian Cancer Coalition
  • Ovarian Cancer Australia

4. A Clinical Perspective: Genetics & Clinical Trial Updates

  • Genetics in Gynecologic Cancer: Enhancing Understanding and Treatment
  • Recent Discoveries in Gynecologic Cancer Clinical Trials

Advocacy Posters:

For the first time at the Advocacy Summit, attendees will have the opportunity to browse posters that include topics on various topics, including advocacy research, patient/community outreach and support, public awareness campaigns, patient education, and palliative/supportive care and complimentary therapies.

Showcase a Poster at the Summit

We are currently accepting submissions for advocacy posters to complement the Summit program and allow participants to share their work with others.

Accepted submissions will be available as an ePoster on the IGCS website and as a printed poster at the Summit and the Annual Global Meeting.

To display a poster at the Summit, submit a brief abstract/summary describing your patient-focused project or program and the impact it has made.

Poster topics include but are not limited to:

  • Advocacy research
  • Patient/community outreach and support
  • Public awareness campaigns
  • Patient education
  • Palliative/supportive care and complimentary therapies

Abstract/Summary submissions close: June 30, 2024
Notifications of acceptance: By July 30, 2024 
EPoster submission deadline: August 30, 2024

Registration Information

The Summit is free to attend, however, registration is required for those attending in person

If you cannot attend in person in Dublin, select portions of the Summit will be recorded and will be available by October 18th on IGCS YouTube channel. 

Register for the Summit*Registration for IGCS 2024 Annual Global Meeting is not required to attend the 2024 IGCS-IGCAN Gynecologic Cancer Survivor-Caregiver Summit.
